A unique group of analog filters is the Group Delay Time (GDT) Equalizer
group, which effectively flattens the overall group delay.
These delay Equalizers significantly reduce the GDT of the unequalized
stages by adding an all pass filter (APF) stage that corrects the GDT of its preceding
stages.
The new stage is labeled an Equalizer stage, and any other stage between
Vin and Vout is called an Unequalized stage. The result is an Equalized filter that
comprises of all the unequalized stages as well as the Equalizer stage, and has an
improved GDT distortion.
Due to the nature of the APF function, the gain response of the resulted
filter is preserved, but any other response can change.
